Company Profile
Teak Research Co., Ltd. is a Bangkok-based firm specializing in design research in Thailand and Asia. Teak was inspired by our founder, Adisorn Supawatanakul, a former research director at Conifer Research, our American business partner. Through our partnership, we bring shared business knowledge, research methods, and tools to Thailand and Asia. Teak draws from the diverse talents of its multinational and bilingual staff with backgrounds in industrial design, social science, journalism, and cinema. We spend a lot of time face-to-face with customers, analyzing data, forming insights, and telling consumer stories through video and visual aids. Sometimes our work can be philosophical or even artistic. 
Research Services
We know that looking at a situation from consumers’ perspective helps to reframe how clients think of their business, which is why we use applied ethnographic research methods from anthropology and social science to help our clients understand the meaning of objects, environments, information and human relationships that make up everyday life and impact businesses. We look at every angle of customers’ experience and  triangulate our data to verify our findings by utilizing several data streams and innovative tools. We also tailor our research approach to our clients’ organizational objectives in order to maximize the value of the research with more relevant insights. We apply design thinking tools and methods to translate research insights into concepts. Our research-driven ideation workshops with clients start with reframing the business challenge and are fueled by consumer stories, innovations, and trends. Co-creation or Co-design sessions with customers are like focus groups but more creative and productive for clients and more engaging for participants. For clients, these events allow them to explore possibilities in a safe space through annotating, sketching or prototyping of their concepts. These activities help to foster shared ownership among stakeholders and help client teams to achieve internal alignment moving forward. We believe that the knowledge our clients have about their customers is an organizational asset that can be leveraged across departments and stakeholders with organizations, therefore, we help our clients become more human-centered via different levels of engagement throughout the research process. We also train clients on the design thinking process through workshops that foster cross-departmental collaboration and to integrate the needs of customers, the possibilities of technology and the requirements for businesses to succeed. Close engagement in the research process also enables clients to become advocates for change in their organization. We also offer storage and management of research data using our propriatory data analysis and coding tool to allow clients access to previous data sets and to analyze data accross research projects i.e. the use evergreen data.

Facilities
We conduct research in-context, in-home, shop-along, tag-along, eat-along, etc. when performing in-depth studies. When performing co-creation sessions or ideation sessions we may work on-site at our offices or off-site in our clients' facilities depending on the number of participants and attendees.
